The issue of school safety for students and staffers comes up a lot these days in education discussions. I was glad to hear, from the Santa Fe Police Dept., that so far this year there have been no weapons incidents in the schools. Oddly enough up in Hershey, Pennsylvania, a 7-year-old boy is sueing the school district because they suspended him on a weapons violation after he brought a “novelty” pen that has a surprise “charge” to it to school.
